BRIDE NURMAN vs. NURMAN NUGRAIN: Which Seat Is Right for You?

Billy Ono

A bucket seat can look right in your car and still feel too tight once you sit down. If you want more space at the hips and thighs, BRIDE’s new NURMAN lineup is worth a closer look.

The range includes four NURMAN fabric finishes and the NURMAN NUGRAIN in Charcoal Gray. All five use a carbon shell and share the same published internal seating widths. The main choice is the upholstery: a familiar BRIDE fabric finish or NUGRAIN’s nubuck-like synthetic leather.

What Is the BRIDE NURMAN?

The NURMAN is a fixed-back bucket seat designed for drivers who find BRIDE’s standard models a little snug. BRIDE began accepting orders for both NURMAN and NURMAN NUGRAIN on September 7, 2026.

For the standard NURMAN, BRIDE lists approximately 20 mm more internal width at the hips and 10 mm more at the thighs compared with the ZETA IV.

  • Internal hip width: approximately 370 mm / 14.6 inches
  • Internal thigh width: approximately 360 mm / 14.2 inches
  • Shell construction: carbon
  • Reference weight: approximately 8.5 kg / 18.7 lb
  • Manufacture: Japan

Those widths describe the space inside the seat. They are not exterior shell dimensions or a guaranteed waist-size fit. If possible, sitting in the seat is still the most useful way to judge how it feels for your build.

NURMAN vs. NURMAN NUGRAIN: What Changes?

The published seating widths and approximate weight are the same. Upholstery is the main difference between the two versions.

NURMAN: Four Ways to Finish Your Interior

The fabric lineup gives you the most choice in color and logo treatment. Gradient Logo brings the familiar BRIDE pattern to the center cushions. Black keeps those cushions plain, while Red adds a stronger color to the cabin.

Black Logo is the subtle patterned option. It has dark BRIDE lettering on the center cushions, but the headrest logo remains white. If you are choosing between Black and Black Logo, that center-cushion detail is the difference to look for.

NURMAN NUGRAIN: A Nubuck-Like Feel

The Charcoal Gray NUGRAIN model uses an upholstery material developed by Achilles. BRIDE describes it as recreating the tactile feel of nubuck, with a finish close to genuine leather. The material itself is synthetic leather.

BRIDE also highlights resistance to soiling and easier maintenance. If your priority is a subdued interior with a softer-touch surface, NUGRAIN would be our pick. Both versions use flame-retardant upholstery.

What Do You Need to Install One?

The seat needs a compatible vehicle-specific rail and any other installation components required for your car. These are sold separately.

Both releases list BRIDE rail types FO, FB, FK, FG, IG, FT, LG, LF, FX, and HR. That list does not mean every rail works in every vehicle. Check the seat-and-rail combination for your exact application before ordering.

BRIDE also identifies the standard NURMAN as suitable for some tight cabins, including the ND Mazda MX-5, with exceptions. Confirm your particular application rather than relying on the model name alone.

Which One Would We Choose?

  • For the classic BRIDE look: Gradient Logo, HN1GSC.
  • For plain black center cushions: Black, HN1ASC.
  • For a red interior accent: Red, HN1BSC.
  • For a quieter logo pattern: Black Logo, HN1HSC.
  • For nubuck-like upholstery and easier maintenance: NUGRAIN in Charcoal Gray, HN1NR2.

Start with the fit, then choose the finish. The roomier dimensions are the reason to consider the NURMAN family; the upholstery is where you can match it to your interior and preferences.

Explore the BRIDE NURMAN lineup at Kami Speed and check the individual listings for current pricing and availability. Confirm your vehicle-specific rail requirements before placing an order.

Specifications are based on BRIDE’s NURMAN release and NURMAN NUGRAIN release. Measurements and weights are approximate. Inch and pound values are conversions.
